Brandon Vu received the 2025 SOURCE Community Service Award for an Individual Student at SON. Brandon has participated in school-wide volunteer services, and has created new connections for the School of Nursing on his own accord for the sake of uplifting others.
The Student Nurses Association received the 2025 SOURCE Community Service Award for a Student Group in the School of Nursing. They actively serve the Baltimore community through blood drives, school science fair judging, blanket making for the children’s hospital, event setups, and more, promoting empathy and a commitment to care.

Community Town Hall: Update on Clinical Trials in a Changing Landscape
Clinical Trials Day (May 20) is an opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of the clinician investigators, clinical research staff members, and patient participants who make this work possible. Together, we celebrate clinical research for a healthier tomorrow. Join the John Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research via Zoom 5-6 pm on Tuesday, May 20 as we share with our community partners and research colleagues the latest updates on clinical research.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Women’s Health, Sex, and Gender Research presents the 18th Annual Spring Symposium, 10 am-1 pm Wednesday, May 28 in the Welch Medical Library West Reading Room, followed by lunch and a poster session.
Keynote speaker is Kathryn “Katie” Schubert, president and CEO of the Society for Women’s Health Research since April 2020. She is a trusted leader and consensus builder among women’s health stakeholders, and previously served as chief advocacy officer at the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
The symposium will also feature the announcement of the recipients of the 2025 Seed Grant for Research on Sex and Gender Differences and the 2025 Donna Vogel Women’s Health Champion Award!

The Recruitment Innovation Unit within the School of Medicine is gearing up for its annual Clinical Trials Day celebration, 11 am-2 pm Saturday, May 17 at Eager Park. This event is a celebration of the community doing its part by participating in research. This is a free, family friendly event, with activities such a bounce house, a DJ, a photo booth, lots of prizes/ giveaways, and food. We also invite other research teams so that they can engage with the community, highlight their studies, or disseminate any study findings. This year’s highlights the Research Saves Lives Campaign, spreading awareness on how research is funded and conducted, and the value it brings to our everyday lives.
